PTA News

We want to thank all the families who have joined PTA. With more parents getting involved with their child's school, we will have great success. It is important for us, as parents and teachers, to work together for the benefit of the children. Hankins PTA is already working on a calendar of special events and activities for school year ahead. We will keep you updated on upcoming events and what is going on in your PTA. We encourage you to join PTA and help us to make Hankins Middle School the best it can be for you child. PTA meetings are open to all PTA members and we appreciate any ideas or suggestions you may have. If you have not done so, it's not to late - JOIN HANKINS PTA. We will be taking applications for membership throughout the registration process and will also have our PTA membership drive in September. All memberships are $5.00 per family. We appreciate your participation and support!!! If you have something you wish to address, please notify the PTA so it can be added to the agenda. PTA MISSION

• To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
• To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
• To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PTA

• To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, and community
• To raise the standards of home life.
• To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
• To bring into closer relation the home and school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
