Author Billy Moore read excerpts from two of his young adult novels, Cracker's Mule and Little Brother Real Snake, to 7^th graders on the Renegades team. Cracker's Mule is the story of a boy who spends the summer with his grandparents and unwittingly buys a blind mule at an auction.  He suffers ridicule while caring for the animal he comes to love.  Little Brother Real Snake is a tale of a Red Squirrel, an Indian youth, who learns lessons from his elders and wins the hand of the lovely Pale Moon. Mr. Moore also spoke to the students about writing a manuscript and explained the process of getting published.  His books range from $10.95-12.95 and may be ordered through the school library.  The library will also have copies available for check-out.
