The Alabama Public Library sponsors a program that is free to all students. If your child has access to the internet at home, he can log on to www.homeworkalabama.org and receive live online help from a tutor in the areas of math, science, English, and social studies. The service is offered for students in grades 4-12, college preparatory classes, and students attempting their GED. The service is from 3:00-midnight seven days a week. All tutors are certified teachers, college professors, and graduate students who have undergone criminal background checks and certification. Tutors help students through the use of an interactive chalkboard, instant messaging and shared web browsing. Students can also print their session. Each session is recorded and monitored by the company.
