Bachelor's Degree, English Literature, Louisiana State University

Master's Degree, Master of Arts in Teaching, Spring Hill College

Highly Qualified

I taught at Tanner Williams Elementary from 1992 until 1998. From 1992 until 1996, I taught second, third, fourth, and sixth grade. From 1996 until 1998, I taught sixth grade language arts, reading, and ancient history.

I taught at O'Rourke Elementary from 1998 until 2005. While there I taught sixth grade social studies for one year. After the school lost sixth grade, I taught fifth grade for six years.

I've been teaching language arts at Hankins Middle School since August 2005.

I grew up in New Orleans. I skipped my last year of high school and was accepted into the early admissions program at the University of New Orleans, where I remained for one year. Afterwards I transferred to L.S.U. and graduated with honors, with a major in English and a minor in premedical studies. In recognition of my academic achievements, the L.S.U. faculty elected me to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious honor society for the liberal arts and sciences in the United States.

When I decided to become a teacher, I enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at Spring Hill College. I very much enjoyed my studies and teaching experiences there and graduated with a 4.0 and the certainty that teaching children was my calling.

I have been very happily married for many years and have two grown step-sons who are very dear to me.
